Jane provides bespoke training for any type of setting and includes all areas of Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding. She is always happy to discuss training needs and highlight particular areas as required.
As an experienced Safeguarding professional, Jane uses her knowledge and skills both of the subject matter and of the roles of the professionals involved, to bring training to life. Using a mixture of powerpoint, small group tasks, case studies and wider discussion groups, Jane receives excellent feedback from her courses. She includes practical advice and an approachable style to ensure that attendees leave having gained insight and understanding of what is a difficult subject.
Jane is also happy to develop your Safeguarding (and related) policy with you following training if required. She is also able to advise on the content of any online training you might be developing.

Basic Child Protection Training
For whole staff which includes all topics relating to safeguarding and is an introduction for all (2-3 hours depending on requirements)
Basic Adult and Child Protection Training
For whole staff which includes all topics relating to safeguarding of adults with additional care needs, and children. A good introduction to all (3 hours)
Child and Adult Protection for Charity Trustees
Covering all duties required by the Charity Commission (2 hours)
Allegations Management and Safer Working Practice Course
Designed to assist in workplaces developing a safer culture and successfully managing staff when an allegation is made (delivered in half a day)

Annual Child Protection Updates
For all staff (required in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 (1-3 hours depending on requirements)
Safer Recruitment Training
(accredited trainer via the NCTL) for those recruiting staff into roles working with children (a requirement for schools under Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 but also good practice for all settings). This course has an accreditation running through it and is delivered in half a day.
Being Prepared for the possibility of Terror attacks – for any setting
This course runs for 2 hours and covers Home Office and Police advice on being prepared for terrorist attack. While we can never guard against every eventuality, there are changes we can make to better ensure safety. The course includes safety planning and practical advice. It is relevant for education settings, and any group working with children or adults at risk.
In addition to these courses, Jane also runs bespoke in-depth training on any aspect of safeguarding including: neglect, e-safety, early help and learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews.
